Our Work
We support our hometown Jewish community in Akron, Ohio. Based on recommendations made by our directors, we support select projects in the Jewish communities where our family members live: Cleveland, Ohio; Brooklyn, New York; Miami, Florida; and Chautauqua, New York.
In Summer 2015 we concluded the pilot cycle for our new program in which family members learn together about a societal issue and then engage in grant making based on what we learn. For the first cycle, we learned about poverty and hunger in the US and ultimately made grants to two organizations who address this issue nationally and two who address it locally. To learn about these grantees, please click here.
For our second cycle we will be learning about global climate change. By meeting with organizations and leaders in the field, learning together, and engaging in site visits, we are exploring the myriad issues that contribute to and stem from this topic.
